Welcome to CHAIN (CHeshire Anti-Incinerator Network)

There are currently four proposals from commercial organisations to build incinerators for burning waste in Cheshire.

All four proposed incineration plants fall within a 10 mile radius. Not only that, but each of the facilities they want to build would burn between 350,000 and 850,000 tonnes of rubbish a year! This would provide over 2.2 million tonnes of burning capacity in one part of the country. To put this in context, Vale Royal Borough last year disposed of 53,000 tonnes of rubbish.

We need to stop this nightmare from happening as it will have dire environmental and economic consequences as well as posing considerable health risks to residents in Cheshire.

We owe it to future generations to object to these plans and fight for a better environment.
